Description

Siam Tulips (Curcuma alismatifolia) are tropical flowering plants with upright, tulip-like bracts in shades of pink or purple and lush green foliage. Popular as ornamental house plants in the UK, they add an exotic burst of colour to bright indoor spaces during summer.

PLANTING

  • Use a rich, well-draining peat-free compost with added sand or perlite.

PLANT CARE

  • Remove faded blooms and yellowing leaves
  • Allow dormancy in winter by stopping watering.

VERVE RECOMMENDS

  1. Place in a warm, bright room for best flowering.
  2. Keep soil moist during growth, but dry during dormancy.
  3. Allow a rest period in winter to encourage reblooming.
  4. Mist occasionally to boost humidity.
  5. Non-toxic but handle with care if skin-sensitive.
