Overview

A hardy perennial grown for its tangy pink stems in spring and early summer. Give plants rich soil and plenty of space, and avoid harvesting heavily in the first year. Rhubarb is perfect for crumbles, pies, compotes and jams.

PLANTING ADVICE

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position. Suitable for ground or containers depending on space.

CARE & HARVEST

Keep soil moist and weed free. Keep plants well maintained, remove damaged growth promptly and harvest regularly to maintain healthy, productive plants.

  • Feeding: Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring to support healthy growth.
  • Cutting and prunning: Remove any damaged or diseased growth as needed.
